Staying back in the USA

 

Post-graduation, students can apply for an Optional Practical Training (OPT) which allows them to extend their stay for 12 months. Students pursuing STEM courses get an additional 17 months, allowing them a total of 2 years 5 months in the States after they complete their studies. A grace period accounting to 30 days is given to students to apply for their work visa.
